Join us and help change the future of finance.
Most of the banking world is exclusive, opaque, and not particularly technology-friendly.
We're trying to change that - we want to lower barriers to entry for fintechs by providing easy access, clear documentation, and transparent pricing.
Our offices are just off Moorgate in central London, but our engineering workforce is distributed. We're currently prioritizing local hires, but are open to remote for exceptional UK/EU/US candidates.
We're hiring for multiple roles, including, but not limited to:
As a backend engineer you'll be responsible for building out our core banking systems, which are responsible for handling compliance as well as managing accounts and transactions.
As a wholesale bank, we're building for scale from day one - our infrastructure has to scale to tens of thousands of requests per second, with all systems fully correct and available.
We'll also need fully-functional integrations with a half-dozen different payment rails such as Faster Payments, Direct Debit, CHAPS, and various card networks.
Our technology stack is Clojure, Kafka, Postgres, and Kubernetes.
Some prior Clojure experience is required. Prior devops or security experience is a major plus. Experience with the other parts of our stack is preferred, but not required. Similarly, relevant domain experience in payments or core banking systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
We're building a bank, so security is paramount. We need security at many levels: AppSec, NetSec, Devops, Corporate IT, Customer Privacy, as well as external Threat Operations. You'll be responsible for helping to both drive high-level strategic thinking around our security model, as well as actually implementing the necessary infrastructure.
As part of the product team, your job will be to liaise with customers about what their needs are and to help translate those into product specs, working with the development team to guide feature development. You can expect to acquire an intimate knowledge of relevant banking regulations along the way.
Day-to-day responsibilities include researching and writing feature qualifications documents, responding to regulation-related questions from the development team, and reviewing features delivered by the development team.
Prior experience in UK/EU banking/fintech required. Some prior experience in payments or white-label banking a huge plus. Technical ability is nice to have, but not required.
